Questions and answers
The questions clients ask most often — first about working with us, then by service. If your question is not here, describe your situation and a lawyer will reply.
Working with us
Do I need to come to Ukraine?
In most cases, no: we act under a power of attorney. If your situation requires your personal presence, we will tell you at the diagnostic consultation.
How do I sign a power of attorney abroad?
There are two lawful ways: at a Ukrainian consulate or with a local notary plus an apostille. We draft the text and give you step-by-step instructions for your country.
How much does it cost?
Starting prices are on the Prices page. We name the exact fixed price after the diagnostic consultation and put it in the contract. Court fees, notary fees and translation are paid separately.
Who will know about my case?
Only your lawyer and the specialists we bring in with your consent, under a confidentiality obligation. Everything you tell us, from your first message, is protected by attorney–client privilege guaranteed by law (Arts. 22–23 of the Law of Ukraine «On the Bar and Practice of Law»).
My matter touches several areas. Will you take it on?
Yes, these are exactly the cases we handle comprehensively: property, inheritance, family, taxes, business, money abroad. First we analyse the whole situation, then propose a plan; we bring in and coordinate the specialists — notaries, valuers, tax advisers, lawyers in your country.
The tax office, customs or a registrar ruled against me. What can I do from abroad?
A lawyer represents you: we analyse the decision, prepare written explanations or objections, send attorney requests, file a complaint or appeal the decision in court. Deadlines for appeals are limited — send us the documents as early as possible.
Another lawyer is handling my case, or it has stalled. Can you check what is going on?
Yes. We carry out an independent review: from documents, decisions, correspondence and register and court data we find out the stage of the case, whether deadlines are running out and which lawful routes exist. We give our conclusion in writing. We do not comment on other lawyers’ work and do not promise a result. Then it is your decision whether to continue with your lawyer or instruct us.
How quickly do I need to act if a decision has been made?
Appeal deadlines are short: in civil cases an appeal is filed within 30 days of the full decision (Art. 354 of the Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine). Send us the documents as early as possible.
How do you report?
Once a week we send you the status of the case: what has been done, what comes next and whether we need anything from you.
How do I get the money from selling a flat or an inheritance abroad?
Bank transfers abroad are restricted under martial law, so the lawful route is to take your own cash and declare it in writing at the border. We prepare the documents on the origin of the funds and never touch your money. See Money abroad.
Do you guarantee the result?
No. No lawyer can honestly guarantee a decision of a court or a state body. We fix the plan, timing and price in the contract and report on every step.
