Money from a sale or an inheritance — lawfully with you abroad

We prepare the documents on the origin of the funds and tell you which documents to take from the bank. With them, you take your own money abroad and declare it in writing at the border — under the rules of the National Bank of Ukraine and the Customs Code. Amounts, sources and plans stay confidential.

The consultation is given by Serhii Hromov. Other ways to reach us — see contacts.

  • Your money stays with you

You withdraw the cash from your own account and carry it. Neither we nor any third party touch it.

  • Documents for customs and the bank

Origin of funds, bank documents on the withdrawal and currency exchange, a written declaration.

  • A fixed price

Not a percentage of the amount. We name the price after the consultation and put it in the contract.

  • Taxes in your country

Declaring abroad — through our partners in your country.

We never touch your money — you withdraw it from your own account and carry it yourself

We do not accept, hold, carry or pass on client funds. We prepare the documents with which you lawfully take your own money abroad and declare it at the border.

When clients come to us

  • You sold a flat or a house in Ukraine and want to take the money to your country of residence
  • You inherited in Ukraine — money or property you are selling
  • A bank transfer abroad is not available to you because of martial-law restrictions
  • You plan to take out more than 10 000 € and do not know which documents are needed at the border
  • A bank abroad asks you to prove the origin of the funds
  • A bank or customs already questioned your documents — we represent you with customs and appeal its decisions

How it works

  1. Origin check

Before we start, we check where the funds come from: the sale contract, inheritance documents, taxes paid. We do not take cases where the origin is not confirmed.

  2. Documents on the origin of funds

We assemble a package showing how you received the money in Ukraine: the sale contract or inheritance documents, taxes, receipts on your account.

  3. Bank documents

We tell you which documents to take from the bank: on the cash withdrawal from your account and the currency exchange. They are valid for 90 days from the withdrawal, so we plan the trip around it.

  4. Declaration at the border

We explain how to declare the amount in writing at Ukrainian customs. Amounts from 10 000 € are also declared on entry into the EU — the same package explains the origin of the money.

  5. Taxes abroad

We pass the package to partners who advise on taxes in your country of residence.

Analytical, comprehensive, confidential

What we analyse before proposing a plan

  • Where the funds come from and whether the chain of documents is complete
  • The amount, the cash withdrawal schedule and how long the bank documents are valid
  • The route and the country of entry into the EU
  • Tax consequences in your country of residence

Who we bring in and coordinate

  • Tax advisers in your country (partners)
  • A translator
  • A notary — for certified copies

You deal with one responsible lawyer who also leads the team.

Confidentiality from your first message

  • The very fact that you contacted us, your documents, property and plans are protected by attorney–client privilege (Art. 22 of the Law of Ukraine «On the Bar and Practice of Law»).
  • The law prohibits demanding privileged information from an advocate or questioning them about it (Art. 23 of the same law).
  • 16 years of practice since 2010: client confidentiality is a rule without exceptions.
  • Only your lawyer and the specialists we bring in with your consent know about your case — under a confidentiality obligation.

Rules for taking cash out of Ukraine

Sources: National Bank of Ukraine (cash export), State Customs Service, EU Regulation 2018/1672

In brief — for a Ukrainian citizen taking out their own funds:

  • Up to the equivalent of 10 000 € — no written declaration and no documents.
  • From 10 000 € — a written customs declaration.
  • Over 10 000 € — also bank documents: on the cash withdrawal from your own account and on the currency exchange, if you bought currency. They are valid for 90 days from the withdrawal.
  • The law sets no upper limit.
  • Only the account holder can take out more than 10 000 €. A representative under a power of attorney can withdraw the money but cannot take it out.
  • Cash withdrawals from foreign-currency accounts are limited to the equivalent of UAH 200,000 a day (from 11.08.2026), so a large amount is withdrawn over several days.
  • On entry into the EU, amounts from 10 000 € are declared to the customs of the country of entry.

Checked: 28.09.2026. Wartime rules change — we check them monthly and update this section.

Service boundary

To avoid misunderstandings, we say openly what we do not do:

  • We do not carry or pass on money — neither ourselves nor through couriers: only the owner carries the cash
  • Undeclared cash or splitting the amount between travellers to avoid declaring it
  • Crypto routes
  • Funds without a confirmed origin — we check it before we start
  • Money from other people’s accounts or through intermediaries’ accounts — only from your own account

Documents for the border

  • The sale contract or the certificate of inheritance
  • Proof of taxes and fees paid on the sale or inheritance — if any were due
  • A statement from your Ukrainian bank account showing the receipt of funds
  • A bank document on the cash withdrawal from your account and a currency exchange receipt — for amounts over 10 000 €
  • Your Ukrainian passport for travel abroad

The exact list depends on your situation — we draw it up at the diagnostic consultation.

Questions and answers

Do you receive or carry my money?
No. We do not accept, carry or pass on client funds. You withdraw the cash from your own account and carry it yourself.
Can I transfer money abroad after selling a flat?
Bank transfers abroad are restricted under martial law by NBU Resolution No. 18 — for money from a sale or an inheritance they are usually not available. The lawful route is to take your own cash and declare it in writing at the border. Step by step — in the article How to get the money from selling a flat abroad.
How much cash can I take out of Ukraine?
Up to the equivalent of 10 000 € — without a declaration. A larger amount — with a written declaration, and for amounts over 10 000 € also with bank documents on the withdrawal from your account. The law sets no upper limit.
Can a relative take the money out under a power of attorney?
No. Only the account holder can take out more than 10 000 € in person. A representative can withdraw the money but cannot take it out. We prepare the documents remotely, before your trip.
Do I have to declare the money on entry into the EU?
Yes. Amounts from 10 000 € are declared to the customs of the EU country of entry (EU Regulation 2018/1672). The same package of documents explains the origin of the funds.
Why is the price fixed and not a percentage?
You pay for our work — documents and support — not for the amount you take out. We name the price after the consultation and put it in the contract.
Do you work with couriers or cryptocurrency?
No. We do not work with couriers, crypto routes or funds without a confirmed origin. Only the owner carries the cash and declares it at the border.
